The Movie Scene
Karlakattai got featured in a mainstream feature film “Jawan”. Jothi Senthil Kannan, Asan of our Gurukulam, is shown coaching one of the main characters of the film.
New seedlings
Our Gurukulam hosts two teacher training courses per year and the second for this year has just began with some really enthusiastic people onboard. The participants who are residing in Gurukulam are also participating in various events in the Gurukulam. They recently contributed in the tree plantation program in a neighbourhood in Puducherry. We welcome Vishal, Radhika, Anuranjan, Varun, Mani, Rahini & Shivaditya to the Jothi Silambam Kshatriya Gurukulam.
The Vasant-23 batch at Karlakutuhal & community short movie
At Karlakutuhal we finished our Vasant -23 Angad batch. Congratulations to Smitha Jacob, Uma, Arathi, Akhila for completing the foundational course successfully. Also congratulations to Priscilla, Smitha Narayana, Chetan, Arjun, Vasudha, Akhil and many others who really were great company, were truly interested and added lot of value but couldn’t finish the complete course. With Karlakattai we all go through a transforming journey and I hope you all continue your practice and share this beautiful art with others. We are really thankful for all the encouraging testimonials. We will soon have an online page for all the members with badges & certificates for the courses that have been completed. We also wish an exciting journey to all the participants of new Savan batches. Here is a video remembering some of the moments from these beautiful times.
It is really commendable to complete a six months long transformative journey. Like any other relationship or connection, the beginning is with mostly with a lot of excitement. It is after a few weeks or months that one’s relationship with the art either deepens or one loses interest as the initial fervour dies out. We have a couple of Vasant batches coming up and it is exciting to see so many people that are ready to have this strong bond with this art.
The Ayurveda Corner
We need to take extra care of our health when the season’s change. In Ayurveda Darshana this is the time when the Vata, Pitta and Kapha balance is shifting in the nature and in our bodies too, making us more vulnerable for infections. One major issue is cold and cough as our body prepares for the onset of winters after long monsoon season. Thippili Rasayanam is the perfect recipe which works as a prevention and a cure to all the respiratory issues. Take it as you identify the first signs to steer clear of any infection or as a preventive measure in small dosage. This potent Rasayanam is also shown to be effective in other diseases such as stomach infection of worst kind and hypothyroidism.
Studies on Thippili: Giardiasis / Stomach infection, Hypothyroidism with Vardhamana dosage

Throwback
Quite an old video of Asan, a treat to watch. You will be amazed not just by the Silambam skills but also by the active mobility and agility as he moves on the ground, on the tree branches, street railings and probably water, too 😁.
Shravana
The season of Shiva
The Shravan Maas is delightful not just for the monsoon rains but also for the very special festive celebrations. Our festivals weave together tradition, art, and science in a beautiful dance. In this newly published article we look at some of the festivals and their relationship with the warrior tradition and arts.
Before we say NamoNamah:
What to practice:
Practice the 12 MeiPadams moves for balancing Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Asan himself has programmed these movements as the minimal set of exercises that you can do to keep yourself perfectly fit and healthy. These are also going to be part of the Karlakattai Day group world record in Dec in which you can also participate. Stay in touch for more updates on this.
